Control Devices

WAP control devices are conform with the latest EC directives and are only to be combined with the appropriate WAP wheel brakes. The braking system will not function with other combinations. The car manufacturer is responsible for the correct design and functioning of the breakaway brake so that it is certain that it functions in an emergency.

• the breakaway cable is to be correctly positioned
  
• the handbrake lever should never make contact as the emergency brake will otherwise not function
  
• WAP therefore recommends the mounting of a supporting yoke or a stabilizer(ensure that the movement is unobstructed)

The stipulated load on the coupling joint is to be adhered to in order to prevent the trailer from swerving from side to side. Rating plates are not to be concealed by add-on parts, or be rendered illegible by them being painted over.
